Local Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty cars have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were defaced, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Law enforcement say they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a man noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.
The substance had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Law enforcement then discovered multiple other smeared automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Swastikas are illegal in Germany under laws prohibiting the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement state preliminary tests indicate the substance was likely blood from a person.
"Currently there is no clue as to its source; investigators are currently not cognizant of any injuries in relation with the incident," they commented.
City officials stated they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the community for tips.
An important political figure commented the vandalism made him without words and needed to be solved rapidly.
"This incident hits the core of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist violent incident in 2020," he posted on a platform, referring to the killing of nine people by a shooter aiming at residents of migrant background in February 2020.
